Recent polls show that the Senate scandal and other travails have the Tories trailing the Liberals. Eric Holder to review the guidelines and recommend changes.That led to Friday’s announcement.**

**Hulu sale has been canceled again. After months of fielding offers from would-be buyers for the popular online video site, owners 21st Century Fox Inc., Walt Disney Co. and NBCUniversal decided Friday to cancel the sale.
This is the second time in less than two years that Hulu’s owners put it on the block only to take it off again.**

Canadian Pacific offers an excellent logistics service and we are looking forward to this long-term partnership, said Ulrich Lamp, president and CEO of K+S Potash Canada, a unit of the German fertilizer giant K+S Group. The Legacy mine, currently under construction, is expected to start production by the end of 2016, ramping up to two million tonnes per year in 2017 and reaching full capacity of 2.86 million tonnes by 2023. Canadian Pacific plans to build an exclusive rail spur to provide direct access to the Legacy site, northwest of Regina.**

B.C. Supreme Court Justice Susan Griffin said in a ruling posted online Wednesday that the legal process is designed to be fair, and fairness in this case requires the government to hand over the documents to the BC Teachers Federation. The statement from the Ministry of Education said that because the matter is before the courts, it would be inappropriate for the Minister of Education to comment on the legal action. Griffin ruled the government did not have to produce all or portions of about one dozen documents because they were not relevant.**

**The municipalities across Quebec and Canada are demanding that rail companies release details about the hazardous materials they transport and prove their infrastructure is sound, following the Lac-Mégantic tragedy in which 50 people are missing. As well, Quebec is looking into a law passed 12 years ago but never adopted that would force train lines to provide lists of dangerous products it is transporting to municipalities.weeks before the Lac-Mégantic disaster, six tanker cars bearing oil products were left teetering on a damaged rail bridge during Calgary’s flooding in late June. Unlike other private businesses, train companies are exempt from municipal regulations. The government promotes trans-Canada transport of petrochemical products, they will have to enforce new regulations to ensure safety and steer this transport away from urban areas.

**Illinois on Tuesday became the last state in the nation to allow gun owners to carry concealed weapons, The Senate voted 41-17 in favor of the override Tuesday afternoon after the House voted 77-31. The law as approved by the Legislature permits anyone with a Firearm Owner’s Identification card who has passed a background check and undergone gun-safety training of 16 hours (longest of any state)  to obtain a concealed carry permit for $150. The Illinois State Police would have six months to set up a system to start accepting applications.**

**Yukon – The former Independent MLA for Vuntut Gwitchin announced that Elias he’s joining the government ranks at a press conference with Premier Darrell Pasloski, Elias hasn’t been assigned a cabinet post, was elected as one of only two Liberals in the last territorial election in October 2011, and became interim leader when former leader Arther Mitchell lost his seat. In August 2012 Elias left the Liberals to sit as an Independent. That left Klondike MLA Sandy Silver as the Liberals’ sole MLA and current interim leader. The integrity of the process of this select committee is important. Darius Elias is now the newest member of the Yukon Party.**

**Regina – Health officials have confirmed a second death resulting from a recent hantavirus in Regina, Saskatchewan. Humans can contract hantavirus by inhaling droplets of saliva or urine suspended in air, dust or feces from rodents. People can be exposed when cleaning buildings such as cottages and sheds. Since 1994, there have been 25 cases of Hantavirus reported in Saskatchewan and eight deaths.** 

**Vancouver – The city put the brakes on plans to build towers as high as 36 storeys around the Commercial-Broadway SkyTrain station, Residents balked at the proposed heights, when the city released the first draft of its Grandview-Woodland community plan in June. Council approved plans for towers up to 45 storeys at Oakridge last month. The city will hold two more public meetings in July before finalizing the Grandview-Woodland plan this fall.**

Inside the 36-page ePassport, each page features iconic Canadian images such as Robert Harris’s painting of the Fathers of Confederation; a depiction of the last spike completing the Canadian Pacific Railway in 1885; and a picture of Pier 21 in Halifax, one of the most significant ports of entry for newly-arrived immigrants between 1928 and 1971. The e-Passport, at $160 a piece for adults over 16, is a better deal than the old 5-year passport, which costs $120. Ottawa says border authorities not equipped with ePassport readers will continue to examine travellers’ passports, looking at other security features such as holographic.**

**The combination of bendamustine with rituximab treatment called BR, would improve the quality of life of patients with indolent non-Hodgkin lymphoma (LNHi), an incurable disease that attacks the immune system, and even extend to several years. A large German study has found that this combination allowed to curb the disease almost three years longer than the standard treatment is currently used in Quebec. It also showed that BR was less toxic, having particular not cause hair loss and reducing the rate of infection.
Following this study, many European countries have adopted this medication as first-line treatment priority. Dr. Stéphane Ahern, President of the Scientific Committee of INESSS, believes that the current legal framework has its purpose, Health Canada can further evaluate the efficacy and safety of products. In order to make it more readily available anticancer drugs considered promising character, INESSS want to start evaluating the BR combination, provided that the manufacturer undertake parallel processing steps to obtain approval from Health Canada.**
